Is 3,0 a bad GPA?

I got 3,0 GPA at the end of this school year and I'm quiet proud of it, tho many people say I should be embarrassed about it, but I don't see why.
Given the fact I had 15 subjects ,out of which only 4 were interesting to me and worth learning, I think it's great. I made a list of all the subjects and looked at what my grades might be next year I still can't do better than 3,5 without wasting time on studying. next year I will have have more subjects but I get to choose some of them so I'll have more interesting classes :D
btw I'm not the nerd that can't stop obsessing over school during holidays, I just really don't like summer and all my friends left town :(

+2It should be a fairly good mark. ( BTW, it is quite proud, not quiet proud. Quiet meaning a description of hearing volume.)reply -

+1It's a "B" and it is nowhere near good enough to satisfy the standards of elite universities. In fact, I recently learned that many high schools have "honors" classes where it is possible to get a 4.5. Furthermore, I learned that many elite universities require a student's participation in mostly honors classes. I heard somewhere that students having anything below a 4.25 GPA need not apply (I think that was Stanford University but I bet all the Ivy league colleges have similar requirements).reply -
that doesn't really matter cuz I don't want to go to college, it's a waste of time and moneyreply - Cellar Door 2012/07/31 02:03:45
