I suppose it largely depends on where you live etc. Many countries find it acceptable. Personally I believe too young but I am just saying that other countries subscribe to different terms of maturity

14 is very young to betroth yourself to someone else. It's also very young to wed. I don't know if 14-year-olds really know what they want out of life or if they're mature enough to be engaged. I don't think 14-year-olds can have a serious relationship, either. I'm not trying to put down 14-year-olds but they are certainly too young to be making any sort of decision like this. If they really love the person that they're in a relationship with, perhaps they could wait until they are older to betroth and wed. I couldn't really take an engaged 14-year-old seriously, sorry.

Yes.... there is sooooooooo much more life you have to live before you even begin to think about getting engaged.... so much more to experience before you think you've met the one you want to spend the rest of your life with... and there are so many other reasons why 14 is to young that I cannot even begin to explain to you... V_V

seriously there is soooo much to do in life dont waste opportunities just to be engaged and tied down before you have even been allowed to live. life and people change all the time what seems like an undying love for each other at 14 could just be a mundane passionless relationship at 18, when the boy your with is still probably acting like he is 14, don't be silly LIVE your LIFE there is plenty of time to be engaged then married with children

I believe some 14 year olds might really like each other, and possibly even start to love each other, but I don't believe that a marriage at that age would ever work. I think teenagers are not mature enough to have a faithful marriage. Your teenage years are the years you try to "find yourself", get an idea of your future, and find out what you really like or love to do/see.
