Indian Baby Drop--What do you think of this strange 500 year old ritual?

Claire_Fox May 02, 2008 16:42:47

This is footage from an actual CNN report on the 500 year old Indian(yes, the ones who live in India) ritual of dropping babies from a tower. The observants believe it makes them stronger and brings them luck in life.

I can't believe they can do that!
I am outraged, that's reckless endangerment!
I think...
You!

    I think...

The only thing better than tossing a baby off a tower? Catching it with a pitchfork

    I think...

Noone gets hurt so it's okay. They probably won't be afraid of heights when they get older.

    I think...

It's their culture and what they do is what they do; however, personally, I think they're doing the incorrect thing.

    I think...

Well, that's their culture. It's not for us to judge. I'd imagine that they have the actual baby toss down to a science. I think if the babies were dying left and right the tradition would have died off long ago.

    I think...

Its fine, as long as the babies arn't killed, its the parents right to do so
