IN CASE ANYONE,S WONDERING WHAT ABRAHAM LINCOLN WOULD DO ABOUT WEED LAW. "Prohibition... goes beyond the bound of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes.

    I always thought I could clean up over half the crime in this country.. if it was up to me..legalize drugs and prostitution (they are here to stay) each state should control them and use profits to run the state..offer and encourage treatment to anyone who wants to quit..take all the child molesters and rapists build a prison in the middle of nowhere for them and keep them there for life..most all of the crime is now gone and each state is profiting..but people rather keep these things illegal and keep the heavy crime associated with it

    First off anyone doing marijuana for recreational purposes is stupid. But is it any wiser to make its possession a crime serious enough for incarceration? I don't think so. We should be more Canadian about it and focus on the more serious crimes. And it is good to see that Obama has loosened restrictions in cases of its medical use.

    As for other drugs where studies have shown that there are no health benefits these should remain outlawed. Better yet for people that choose to do these drugs the government should open clinics where people can freely use these under government supervision and sell them to the users for one dollar a pop. This takes the big business - and the crime - out of the drug trade. This isn't my idea, I had a prof that advocated this and I've heard others suggest this too.

    first off if doing marijuana for recreational purposes is stupid then whats the statistics say here it goes = Deaths in the United States in a typical year are as follows:

    * Tobacco kills about 400,000
    * Alcohol kills about 80,000
    * Workplace accidents kill 60,000
    * Automobiles kill 40,000
    * Cocaine kills about 2,500
    * Heroin kills about 2,000
    * Aspirin kills about 2,000
    * Marijuana kills 0

    There has never been a recorded death due to marijuana at any time in US history.

    All illegal drugs combined kill under 20,000 per year, or a small percent of the number killed by alcohol and tobacco.

    Tobacco kills more people each year than all of the people killed by all of the illegal drugs in the last one hundred years.

    it dosent LOOK that stupid to me and i hate funerals .....!
