If you marry does that mean you are more committed to the person than if you just lived together?

For some people, living together would not even be an option, due to the
pressures of family or even religious concerns, whether involved in
Christianity, Judaism, Scientology, Muslims, Hindu, etc. When I was
younger, living together was just considered taboo - not only for
religious reasons - but by society in general. Of course, the 60s and
70s changed the course of many of those rigid society expectations.
Do you think that those who marry are more committed to the person/relationship than those who choose to live together?

That is definitely not true.
