    I have heard of them and I've had it as well, but I find it disgusting. biscuits and plain gravy is very good, but the sausage, too much grease.

    It's one of my all time favorites and I do a good job of making both the biscuits and gravy from scratch, but I'm smart enough to not have it too often. I want some right now!!

    I love redeye gravy on good biscuits......and they love me back. so much so that the weight they incur stays with me for months. i have to consider them a once a year 'treat'.

    I like biscuits and gravy but am allergic to pork so I had to invent my own vegetarian gravy based on olive oil, or I sometimes use chicken gravy.

    Only if you don't exercise and stay healthy. My Grandfather lived to be 99 years old andt ate all the good stuff they say well kill you, but he never sat on his butt all day long and di nothing.

    and i have been fortunate enough to learn how to make this from a Louisiana southerner many years ago... and it's damned good!!!
    although it's not healthy at all... Sausage gravy isn't difficult at all to make... and it's a crowd pleaser for sure. My teenage boys always love when i make it for sunday brunch (especially when they have friends spend the night)
    not something I make too often and if there are any leftovers i use over mashed potatoes the next day :-)

    I can make the gravy, but my biscuits are pathetic (to dense and not flaky at all, I am ashamed) ..but maybe thats better for my waist line..sigh
    I can make spoon bread, but its not the same as biscuits

    It sure do, that's what I was raised on, when I was a kid, we go to the farm first and do the chores, after that we go back home and Grandmother would have been cooking breakfast for us because she new we were hungry. Breakfast was a meal in itself. southern breakfast
