If people really knew the type of person I really was then indeed I would have less friends. If people knew the dark demons hiding in my thoughts, they'd keep a certain distance, questioning my sanity.
Only a tiny few there are I can think of who'll still love me the same.

I see your point though so it really does depend.
About family though, of course I would still love them.
What's the saying? Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer?
It's like the few things people may hide just to protect their loved ones, because of insecurity issues or painful experiences - not being fake just because....
On a facetious note - only a few friends and just my brother alone knows that I'm a fanboy of Mario's world. If you could guess by my avatar then you probably already knew this.
