I like being one on one with a man on our first date. If the man is hot and he turns me
on I want alone time with him to share a few glasses of wine, talk intimately and laugh. Laughing and having fun is most important to me. I love a man who can make me laugh.

Asking for (or being asked for) a "real" date is a stressful thing for most people. And it only gets worse when trying to impress the other person. In the "one on one" scenario, the spotlight is on and there are many ways to screw up.

The "group date" reduces stress and expectations. If certain bits of reassurance can be obtained and the group date is a success, the next step is the "real" date -- which includes quiet time alone.

In the ideal world, people think they will meet others who they are comfortable with, know their background, etc. -- enough to skip the "group date" and proceed directly to some quiet time alone. That's great when it happens, but not everyone meets people that way.

In a group. I am socially awkward. Distancing myself is better. However, after a while I would prefer to be alone with him.

I would prefer to be alone with each other on the first date.

It would be difficult to get to know each other better if we were in a group setting vs. being one on one.

Depends, really. If it was a date with someone I did not know well, I'd rather be in a group. If we were already friends but it was our first date, it would be nice to be alone.
