If you had a choice to live off of Water or Food; Which would you choose?

Because u can get fluids from certain vegetables and fruits that can substitute for water. But water has no substance and will not help with muscle growth or energy.

You literally cannot survive without water - you can survive without food. It wouldn't be thriving, but it would be surviving.

If I choose my foods correctly I can live a long time without water but if I don't I won't last a week ;-)

Oh I see... water purifies and food nourishes and I can't choose one over the other because both would suck. One the toxins will kill me and the other I would die out of malnutrition. You need both water and food for life.

Actually both can be had in some foods, mainly fruits and veggies.

A human body can survive 8-14 days without water depending on the person and how fast sweat, urine, and tears are leaving the body and up to 4 weeks without food depending on conditions like weight, temperature and exertion.


In 1981 a series of prisoners in Northern Ireland went on hunger strike. They joined the protest in stages. Ten of them died. The numbers of days the ten who died lasted were ..... 46 59 60 61 61 61 62 66 71 73

Several others were convinced to come off the hunger strike by their families.... some of those had lasted over 50 days, and one 70. These people were not doing anything physical, and were in a position where they were being closely monitored and at least one was in the semi-comfort of the prision hospital.... so while the figures are a good guide to how long people can go without food some consdideration needs to be given to the particular circumstances of this strike.
