If you had a child whom you know was a murderer, could you give her an overdose of sleeping pills so that she could never be taken away from you?

    I would have to turn her in. If I did what you suggested, that would make me a murderer too.

    i could never kill my child no matter what they did. and none of my kids would ever do anything like that anyway. i would turn them in.

    I have no idea. You could turn her in but the justice system is not equipped to deal with an eight year old like Rhoda. What are they gonna do, put her in prison? I think the mother just wanted to stop Rhoda from killing plus she felt like it was her fault not the child's. Plus the mom was planning to kill herself too.

    Good old Rhoda Penmark.
    I am not sure what you could do with a Rhoda Penmark.
    She was literally criminally insane without a doubt.

    The psychobabble people who run the mental hospitals and prisions would certainly "rehabilitate" her and set her lose on society again that is for sure.

    Perhaps give her to Dexter, or Hannibal Lecter to raise, and at least then she would kill some of the right people, as opposed to neighbors.

    You mean would I help her escape responsibility for his/her actions. No.

    But if you're talking about "The Bad Seed" kind of child, I could see sleeping pills so s/he couldn't continue. And a trial might not work.

    cant concure with the word "evil".. i can concur with having a mental problem .. but anywayz, if their young .. they have their whole lives ahead of them , shouldnt be put away over a mistake at an young age

    Where you you get these questions? I love my kids dearly but I've told them what my parents always told me. "if you ever do something bad enough to go to jail. I'm not going to visit anyone in prison". Thank goodness I was never put in that situation.

    I would call the cops and stick by my child till the end. No one should get away with cold blooded murder. I don't care who you are. The only thing that works for me is self defence and war.

    With every choice one makes, there are consequences that follow it.

    If I had a kid who did something wrong like that I would encourage them to turn themselves in. Everyone has to admit their wrong and accept the punishment for what they've done.

    I loved the movie "Bad Seed" and the remake was pretty good, too. As a mother with a beautiful 14 year old daughter (who is a really nice, sweet young lady) I can't even fathom going through that or what I'd do in that case.

    However, I would turn said child in to the law and have said child follow through due process... Think not?

    I've had children in trouble with the law from time to time... and I've stood by them and supported them in court, but would not defend their actions and told them straight up that, while I love them unconditionally and completely, and because I love them unconditionally and completely, they will take whatever is coming to them...
