If you gave your son a robotic doll and he kept telling you that the doll was actually talking to him and telling him to do bad things, would you believe him?

Just to be sure, I'd dismantle the thing and burn as many of the pieces as I could.

I would throw the thing out and tell him to go watch TV, play outside, vandalize something- whatever. If it came back, THEN I would believe him.

I would solve the problem by taking the doll outside, put it behind the truck tire and slowly back over it while my son watched. Now son, we killed that little bastard. No more talking.

First thing to do would be to get rid of the doll, then take your child to the nearest psychiatrist to make sure there isn't other voices at play.

I'd give him a hammer and let him take his anger out on it. Then I'd dismember it and spread its body around. The kid would get a kick out of it.

No. I would make an appointment with the nearest child psychiatrist.
    Inquisitve Kat
I'd make sure the child wasn't just trying to get away with making excuses first. If the kid seemed genuine, however, I'd try taking the doll away, then have him evaluated if he keeps acting so out of sorts.

If the kid kept telling me such a thing, and I knew it is quite impossible, i guess I would talk to him about visiting psychiatrist.

Still, depends on how my son was old, though.

I would explain to him that the robot doll cannot talk on its own and hope that the doll doesn't interrupt me.

I'd talk to the kid and try to catch him in the lie, and of course make sure there was nothing psychologically wrong with him.

And remove the doll from the house. The doll isn't talking but that's not the point. The doll has obviously become a fixation upon which he projects these voices in his head onto. I would seek help for my son as this could definately be an indicator of mental health issues and the sooner you catch them the better a chance you have of stopping them.

might not believe him but i'd take care of it. my son was scared of this bear he had one night, so i showed him what daddy did to things that scare him...i ripped the bears head off. did that with a movie too. one part scared him so i broke into a bunch of pieces so he could see it destroyed. works great.

I'd probably get rid of the doll and see if the behavior persisted. If so, it's time to have him evaluated.

Stop watching Chucky movies. I've seen many creepy dolls in people houses before, wonder if they come to life at night?

I would accept that he believes it is talking and I would immediately re-direct his attention onto other things.

But I would coax him away from the toy and replace it with other activities-- actual playmates, for one.

When i was a car salesman, we put a tape player with pre-recorded messages in a satanic voice in our F&I; manager's office, taped it under one of his desks, and left it on play.

He was a portly fellow, and we had messages like "Eat all funions" and "Doughnuts are better with Bacon".

We all sat back and tried to inconspicuously watch to see what happened. the first few times it spoke to him, he had a puzzled look on his face but kept working. Eventually tho, he saw one of us laughing, and the jig was up. Eventually he asked us "why the fck is my desk talking to me?"

Well, if my child had the courage to say something like that, i wouldn't just let it go. I guess i'd be iffy about the whole thing, but i would throw the doll out and then go from there. Def keep an eye out to make sure if it's something serious and she needs some kind of "help".. I sure hope nothing like that ever happens lol

i definitely wouldn't dismiss the concerns as a mental disorder... I would be skeptical but more observant then before. We can NOT say it's impossible, because we simply do not know everything.

i wouldn't say it's out of the question that something strange is going on. But, I'd pursue more conventional fixes first.
