If we are going to ask "Where are the jobs," we should also ask: Where are the job creators?"

the_old_coach 2012/05/13 16:43:34
I've about had it with the "New Republicans" and their question, "Where are the jobs?"

Where are the job CREATORS?

I can tell you where the jobs are: They were outsourced under the Clinton and W Bush administrations, never to come back. The educated, scientific, technical jobs as well as the blue-collar, manufacturing jobs.

The "job-creators" stress that they can't make enough profit--always profit, the hell with morality--because they have to pay too much in taxes, the Unions want too much pay--I guess it's okay for the OWNERS to make money and get medical and healthcare, but not the WORKERS, which seems strange to me--and that it's just simply cheaper to do all of this overseas. If I get this right, those cheaply-made goods turn out to be--well, CHEAP--they don't last long.

I would like to know why the job-creators are not creating jobs to justify their tax breaks?

    Bravo. Great question.

I think the underlying problem with our economy is greed, pure and simple. The very purpose of capitalism is greed. Management wants a better profit margin. Labor wants higher wages and more benefits. Neither side stops to consider how they will build a SUSTAINABLE economy.

    "Where are the job CREATORS...?"
Busy looking for those "jobs" in a woman's vagina???

And I SO agree with "I would like to know why the job-creators are NOT creating jobs to justify their tax breaks..." I think they should LOSE ALL tax breaks until a certain amount of jobs ARE created.

This "Welfare for the WEALTHY" IS NOT working.

The 1% is complaining that they can't risk their money on an economy that isn't producing.
If they want to get their share of our revenues they have to create jobs, instead of investing in stock market and overseas poker games.
The creation of jobs is up to the businesses in a capitalist system, not the government...

Government didn't outsource jobs....industry leaders did that.....the "job creators" are still sitting in their big leather chairs, top floor of the building.....in some cases, making stupid decisions and ruining the company.....I've seen and been part of that....seen some so called "top management" make some very stupid decisions, with no concern for the customer/client.......just concern for the almighty dollar......having apparently never heard the old saying "penny wise and dollar foolish".....

    Self employment is the answer.

No, it is ludicrous to look to government to create a job for you. If you can't find employment, it is upon you to go out and create employment of your own. People sitting around on their ass, waiting for somebody to create a job for them don't deserve a job

Unless you are talking about my assessment of your comment as partisan drivel, that was a statement

The problem that no politician is willing to address is that computers are eliminating clerical and middle management jobs just as machines eliminated farming and blue collar jobs. Shrinking the work week worked in the first instance; are we willing to do so again?

The problem is that no politician is willing to address the issue of the impact of free trade which caters to large multinationals. And they get away with it because the voters want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to be able to go down to Walmart and load up on cheap imported goods not caring about the devastating effect on the economy....until it is their job which is outsourced that is

I have no problem with a rising tide lifting all boats, even those in China. Manufacturing markets are gradually returning to the U.S. because 1) we are more productive, 2) shipping costs are becoming more and more prohibitive, and 3) because we are more innovative. When it comes to the free market, I'm fairly Libertarian, and I suspect we'll have to agree to disagree, though I DO appreciate your point.
