Mammoth Cave is a short drive away and it is my backup plan.
Temperature in the cave is 53 degrees year round.

Nope. We'd just have to suffer unless we wanted to drive to the next state to the caves there. It's about two hours away.

Where I live, there is no such thing as "heat" outside, power outages are caused by too much ice and snow

We have also lost power for weeks at a time to ice. When my wife was almost ready to have our first child in '74 we had to drive about 15 miles on ice covered roads to get to her Dad's house where he had natural gas furnaces that would heat without electricity. Driving that far at 5-15 MPH is nerve racking.

A doctor I work with has a generator that is supposed to last for a few days and he has offered for me to stay there if such thing ever happens.

If the power went out? I haven't had air conditioning since I moved into my current apartment years ago. I have learned to deal with the heat. Though I am slightly curious as to where these caves are, as I live in Michigan and haven't heard of them. It's currently over 100 degrees in my apartment and it's past midnight >.>

though, if we lose power anytime soon, im going to have to figure something out, because with 3 kids and my being pregnant, i dont think we can handle the heat.

Your in the same situation as my youngest. Their power went out today and she has two children and is due with the third any day.

im only like 25 weeks, but i cant stand being hot (it makes me sick). hopefully your daughters power will be on soon

Thank you and it did. Good luck to you and I know where you are coming from. Growing up and into my 30's I had severe nasal allergies that made breathing difficult. The hot humid summers were unbearable.
