If There is No God, Why are Humans The only Creature That have Reasoning Skills and Manipulate Their Envirorment?

SAILOR 2011/06/18 17:47:38
Atheists and evolutionists claim they is no God and that we evolved into what we are. If that were true wouldn't there be other creatures that would build houses, use tools and reason to solve problems. Why are humans the only animal that can manipulate their environment?

Because no other creature on this planet has evolved a brain as complex as ours. We're also the only species which can think in the abstract - something even our predecessors couldn't do.

But as Mavericky has pointed out, other creatures are capable of changing things to suit them e.g.: beavers, ants, bees, termites, weaver birds, moles, prairie dogs, trapdoor spiders, hermit crabs etc.

Why haven't any other animal evolved a brain as complex as ours? Didn't the animals and humans evolve along the same path?

To be honest, the answer would be pretty complicated to explain (not that you wouldn't understand, I simply don't know all of the reasons myself).

The growth of the human brain over time has been charted and quite a bit seems to involve the pre-frontal cortex, since this controls our reasoning skills and personalities. Its increased size has given us the ability to think outside the box, as it were.

The evolution of our (Homo Sapiens) brain is outlined far simpler terms (although it is not the focus) in a series called "Walking With Cavemen".

As for the whys, well... the jury is still out on that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Environment plays a huge factor in any adaptation. An easily observed example would be the strongman competitions that you see on ESPN. Without an environment in which to develop their muscle growth (and thus strength), none of those guys would be able to take part in the competitions.

So why can't God have had something to do with our evolving into what we are?

Which god? There are so many to choose from, but no evidence to support the existence of a single one.

Actually, dolphins are thought to have just as advanced a brain as human beings. Do a little research, pick up a book or two, might do you some good.

Someday we may discover that we are totally inferior to an alian race which makes since because humans in many ways are still barbaric.

There are days when I think that we're the most un-evolved species on the planet. We have the ability to defy our instincts without warning or any form of training and yet we act on our most base (and often hideous) impulses all in the name of money and power.

If there is intelligent life out there, I'm pretty sure they've noticed and are hoping that we never develop faster-than-light travel.

I think you're right. It may also explain why no intelligent life has come here from the universe. They don't want to go near inferior beings with nuclear weapons.

Being with nuclear weapons who are stupid enough to detonate them in their own atmosphere... :-/

Exactly. How stupid is that. And the waste from nuclear power plants is active for millions of years or there about. I always say humans are much dumber then they think they are. Look how much money the world spends every year on guns and militaries and weapons just to kill one another. All the good that money could be doing is totally being wasted on things to kill people rather then save them.

animals don't destroy the world they live in, that's one of the most basic thing an intelligent specy should do

I think that greed is sometimes an overriding factor where "intelligent" beings are concerned. There are stacks of examples throughout human history (and that's just what we have on record).

While other animals will simply act on the instinct to survive and perpetuate their bloodlines, humans (as I'm sure you're aware) will do far more for far less.

Good thing for evolution! (and your comment is not necessarily correct - other animals use tools, create homes, and reason out problems)

Not in any way the humans do. When have you seen a bird build a power plant or a horse design a wagon or harness?
