Just found out that Canada wanted to ship the oil across the United States and sell it on the world market. When asked if they would guarantee that the oil would be sold here the Canadian said no. This means that we would be taking the risk of leaks and may not get much in the way of benefits,

The proposed Keystone XL pipeline that would ship oil from Northwest Canada south through Mid-America to the Texas Gulf Coast has drawn sharp opposition from environmentalists worried about Canadian forests, greenhouse gases, and potential leaks.

But one line of attack is more about economics and geopolitics than land and water. And it strikes at pipeline proponents
' central argument that Keystone XL would buttress U.S. energy security. Opponents contend instead that the pipeline's petroleum could largely bypass the American markets and be shipped to Asia.

No. It shouldn't be built under the present plans.

Thanks for the information. I am afraid that many Americans just would not believe that our gov. would sell us out this way. Thus, they may not see the seriousness of this situation. All info put out will help.

Thank You Mary, I have been trying to keep up with this project from the start. When I found out how toxic the oil was and the poor safety record of the builder I became concerned. I would like to see the jobs, but I have my doubts about how much help this oil will do us. I would like to see the pipeline built from the oil fields in Montana and North Dakota built. This oil is presently being shipped by rail. Obama's friend Buffet is the one that owns the Rail Road. That will give you a hint as to why he was reluctant to build the pipeline. I hope that I am not repeating myself here as I have put this information out there before. I suggest that Canada build a refinery there on site and then ship the end product. The land around there has been ruined already.

We put up with the EPA. Now they come in and want a free ride and guess what. It will leak. We have too many fair weather friends. Let's not add to the burden.

The record of the Company that was going to do the pipeline is not a very good one. It was the first thing that I looked up when they were talking about it.

Thank You. Just trying to get information out to the people that they may have not had before. Before it was said that this would help America by delivering oil here to help us get off Middle Eastern oil. We allow the Canadians to drill here and we do not even charge them for the oil they take, We gave them the right to drill here and they are considering to allow the oil company that we have given these rights to to be sold to the Chinese.

Don't forget our great President telling our energy companies that they cannot drill here or off shore, then telling Venezuela that they SHOULD drill off shore as it would greatly benefit their economy and that he wants us to be Venezuela's number one customer.

That was Brazil, but that okay I sometime do that as well. He also suggest that they could drill in the Gulf as well. Loan them 2 billion dollars to drill so that we could buy the oil that they have been negotiating with China to sell it to them.
