If the media marketed peace or such attributes as character and integrity with all the same gusto of selling us the next new electronic gadget or Hollywood blockbuster film, would people buy?

There are some interesting commercials out there which depict people performing and passing on simple acts of kindness and displaying strong personal character. Unfortunately these ads usually have an ulterior motive in the end (i.e., to sell you insurance).
What do you think would happen if there was a campaign to market such values without the hook? The so-called "product" would be free: Your own actions.

...It's a sad social commentary that after 2 days there has been only a single reply. Yet, ridiculous, trivial and meaningless questions about hairstyles, fashion, celebrities, and whether you put ketchup on a hot dog or not get raved.
I don't know of there's enough wick left to keep the candle burning much longer.
