If gay males are attracted to manly men then why do gay men act & dress so femininely?

They really don't. Those type of men are tomgirls and womeniser's. Gay men are regular men who find other men just attractive. It's mental for a male to be a women, but it's sometimes normal for girls to act like boys. Gay people are no different then just straight men. I'm saying this because I'm Gay myself.

Everyone is attracted to different types of people. This is the case of gay men as well. Some like manly men, some like "pretty boys", and so on.

Because they have a feeling to be femin to atract. But some do it because that's just who they are.

But one reason may be Genes, like they were born gay. If you all wonder so much about being gay, why don't you go to your nearest Lambda, or get on a gay site where they don't mind the questions. But you're going to have to do something you've never done before- Do it with respect and I'll tell you something that you never may have thought of before- A big part of the Gay culture does not like Flamboyance. It comes up in parades, at parties, etc, because it's part of the history of LGBT, and they celebrate it like we do at holloween. How many straight men dress up like women at costume parties. Good question. But " gay bears" don't seem to dress and act femininely. I heard that gay men naturally have higher testosterone levels, and there are supposedly some differences in the brains of gay men too (I don't mean this negatively or offensively BTW). Maybe this has something to do with it? I don't know if this is true. Maybe their higher testosterone levels make them attracted to the manly men, but in a way, parts of their brains are feminine. I'm just throwing it out there, again, don't mean to offend gay men.

But then, after reading some of the comments here, I realize that maybe I don't know enough about gay men to know what I'm talking about.

Well, lets see. Not all gay men are attracted to "manly" men. In fact not all straight women are attracted to "manly" men. And not all gay men dress and act feminine. And not all straight men dress and act like lumberjacks either for that matter. Every single person on this whole earth is not going to look, act, think and fell in the societal "norms."

Take me for example. I hate makeup. I hate shopping. I hate dresses. I loath lace and glitter and the color pink. I like jeans and t shirts and boots. Gee, I guess that must automatically make me a lesbian huh? Well, I did marry one of those unmanly men.

You are type casting. All gay men do not act and dress femininely and all gay men are not attracted to manly men. In supposing that you are painting with one brush. I know straight men who seem very feminine and visa versa. Look at all the gays who came out in Hollywood. Rock Hudson, Montgomery Cliff, Tab Hunter, and many more, even some rock stars. Sexual orientation is like being left or right handed it is what comes natural to you.
