If Domino's Classed Up Their Act, Would It Change Your Opinion of Them?

Domino's is attempting to reinvent their brand as an artisan pizza house, putting their pizzaiolas in the spotlight. But can the company ever change its fast-food type vibe?

The LA Times reports that: "Domino's eateries will begin to incorporate comfortable lobby areas as well as ordering kiosks and boards that track to-go orders electronically. Customers will be able to draw or leave feedback on chalk boards placed around the stores, which may also feature big-screen televisions."

Their logo is also getting a facelift, with the noticeable change being the removal of the word "pizza". Their justification for this, is that their menu encompasses way more than pizza, including cheesy sticks, bread bites, bread sticks, cinnamon bread sticks and more.

SLICE.SERIOUSEATS.COM reports:
The Domino's transformation continues. In keeping with the company's evolution into "artisanal" pizza making, the facade will now match, well, the facade.

they over cook their pizza; I'd rather eat a frozen Pizza before a Domino's anyday red baron pizza

Me too. I rather get a frozen pizza and dress it up with more cheese and added toppings and if you bake it right it often is equal to or better than any chain pizza joint. BUT, I'm spoiled in that Chicago has some of the best pizza joints in the world, not the chains, mom and pop places, some have been around over 50 years and people line up outside.

Hardly. About 2 weeks ago I tried their new "over baked" sandwitch. I guess I should have read the fine print. You can't just buy one, you got to buy two. Well alright, I got two, with tax over $13. I could have had a nice sit down lunch for that at a real restaurant. My Domino's is no bigger than a shoebox, so can't eat there, but its less than five minutes to drive home.

The quality was sub par. The bread doughy, not toasty at all, in spite of being in the oven and the filling was a joke. Because I wasn't going to over eat and planned to have the second sandwitch the next day, I examined it after eating the first. It was the beef. I have a food scale at home. Wow, it had exactly 3 ounces of grissly over cooked chewy beef I wouldn't feed to a starving junk yard dog. The "cheese" was all but invisible, melted to the point it was melted into the bread which is probably why it tasted greasy. The "toppings" were a few commical tiny thin slices of green pepper and some onion. The peppers still half raw, not roasted. The onions must have been sitting around for a week.

I'm in the Chicago area and it has scores of really good mom and pop fast food joints that put the national chains to shame. For the same price I could have had a extra large Italian beef, over half a pound of tender...

I'm in the Chicago area and it has scores of really good mom and pop fast food joints that put the national chains to shame. For the same price I could have had a extra large Italian beef, over half a pound of tender well seasoned juisy beef, two huge slices of perfectly roasted peppers on a crusty roll plus a ton of fries, a 20 oz drink and still get charge from a $10 bill.

f Domino's goes belly-up tomorrow I couldn't care less. RIP OFF and then some.

So long as they still made pizza and those delicious oven-toasted sandwiches, I see no problem with classing up the joint.

I worked at that hellhole for 12 months. If you knew how they made their "hand tossed" pizza (it's tossed frozen by hand from the back of a truck to the freezer) you'd never touch that place again. They also hire incompetent boobs as managers.

Yeah, they make a really good vegetarian pizza with artichoke hearts and garlic sauce. They also make stuffed pizza which my family adore. I'd rather take and bake than buy any other and get the worst heartburn ever.

I don't like Domino Pizza at all for some reason. Give me pizza from Pizza Hut or any Italian Restaurant I would eat it,but from Domino No. Even if it free I don't want it. There some about it I don't know. But when I eat it that when my taste bud kick in,it just different from Pizza Hut. Class Act or No Class Act and I don't want/like it. In my opinion.

Every item on their menu comes out of an oven and not even a wood fired, coal fired or brick oven so it just a "cheesey" bakery with second class pizza.

We decided to order Domino's earlier tonight so my mom called. I told her to order the 2 for $12 deal. She asks the guy for it and his tard reply is that no they do not have such an offer, all they have is a deal where you can get TWO ITEMS for $5.99 EACH. So, apparently he is incapable of realizing that 6+6=12.

Conclusion: They hire retards to work at Domino's who haven't yet learned first grade math.

The real question: Instead of trying to be clever, why not just read what the coupon says? In a busy pizza place, there are about 50 different active coupon deals going at once (because there are a billion different promotions going, not all of them public). Guess what? The employee is probably busy during the rush and has better things to do than memorize all of the promotions and whatever cute and clever name the customer may come up with.

Besides, it would actually be "2 for $11.98" so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

    :P

The local Domino's always puts too much garlic, too much sauce, and too much cheese on the pizza, making it a soggy, smelly, fatty mess.

Plenty of other places do it right.

I only eat Dominoes for two reasons:
1.) My boyfriend (who loves Pizza Hut/ Dominoes) is over.
2.) There's no one home that can drive me to a grocery store and I need a sweet fix. (It's literally the ONLY take out places in my area that sell desserts >:(((!)

I used to live in NY... the pizza is what needs improving, not the "lobby area".
