Domino's is attempting to reinvent their brand as an artisan pizza house, putting their pizzaiolas in the spotlight. But can the company ever change its fast-food type vibe?

The LA Times reports that: "Domino's eateries will begin to incorporate comfortable lobby areas as well as ordering kiosks and boards that track to-go orders electronically. Customers will be able to draw or leave feedback on chalk boards placed around the stores, which may also feature big-screen televisions."

Their logo is also getting a facelift, with the noticeable change being the removal of the word "pizza". Their justification for this, is that their menu encompasses way more than pizza, including cheesy sticks, bread bites, bread sticks, cinnamon bread sticks and more.

SLICE.SERIOUSEATS.COM reports:
The Domino's transformation continues. In keeping with the company's evolution into "artisanal" pizza making, the facade will now match, well, the facade.

I think their pizza is great. I don't care what they're logo or restaurant looks like. I just get it delivered anyway.

I already think highly of Domino's, so there's no need to class up their act. They have a nice website, the "pizza tracker" is a cool idea, and the pizza itself tastes good as well.

You can polish a turd all you want but at the end of the day contents is what matters.you can put a crapy pizza in a pretty box but the pizza still stays crappy

Every time we tried ordering from them the pizza was sub par. Last time the veggies were raw. Way too over priced for what you get.

The quality at Domino's has improved tremendously. If you haven't tried their pizza in the last 4 years, you really should try it again. I consider them the very best of the low-cost pizza chains.

Their main "vehicle" is delivery, and they've set the standard on that. Some of their stores are not capable of this "re-invention", due to lack of physical space.

Little Ceasar's is $5 per pizza though. Their market is teenagers and parties.
PIzza Hut sells mostly to families because kids like it.
Dominos really has no market left.

ah, touche... maybe if they started marketing more towards teens and parties they'd do good, cuz they kick little ceasar's ass to next year... i think it'd be an easier market to go into as opposed to taking on pizza hut and their family market...

Yeah, it would make me suspicious of their pricing, since I'd feel like I was paying for their new makeover.

i work for them at night pt, they have change the crust and sauce and added 3 cheeses instead of 1 and red pepper to the sauce.

Yeah but the cheese and the meat are cheap crap. There is no secret to making good pizza, use good ingrediance. I have tried them several time before and after their "big change". Still crap!!!!

Likely they use better ingrediance where you live. When you get to New York or Philadelphia ask a locac about the best pizza. They will know.

Most of these changes are superficial. They need improve their core product and change their corporate attitude and culture. Otherwise, it's just puttin' lipstick on a pig.

I don't know what Domino's is like in America, (because everyone seems to hate it) but at home, it's amazing :D I love Domino's, and having at home or in a restaurant is all the same, it's still delicious :D

I haven't been to domino in a long time, another one I use to go to is Dino pizza, that was when I was young. I usually go to little ceasar, but I used also like pizza hut.

Is Little Ceasar's crappy in the US? Because we just got one where I live and it tastes like grocery store frozen pizza. I was so excited when I heard they were coming here, then so disappointed when they actually came. lol

Right on! All these people trashing Domino's have obviously never tried Little Caesar's. Because THAT is crappy pizza. Domino's is pretty good IMO.
