    I swore to tell the Truth on my Book
    Sometimes I chose a Science Book Other times i choose a Book on a Goddess

    You have the option to swear on the flag or on a book of law (the book in question typically pertinent; state; county; country or what have you)

    nope, you can make a pledge or affirmation. it's just the same thing to promise the court that you will not tell a lie. cross your heart :P

    No, swear or affirm. Not all Christians will do it either. And you don't need a Bible. What would be the point for those who don't believe?

    An affirmation has exactly the same legal effect as an oath, but is usually taken to avoid the religious implications of an oath.

    Yes! and it's not negotiable. The common Atheist gets an inner chuckle from the Hollow Gesture. Many believers have been convicted of purgery, not one has been struck by lightning, That I know of.

    Yes, it's the law. Unfortunately it doesn't mean he'll tell the truth any more than a zealot would. Lying, when it helps YOU, is simply human nature, for the religious as well as the atheist!
