A family friend invites you to dinner at their home, you accept, the night of the dinner you sit at the table and they serve you something that you don't like and would never eat.
You don't want to upset the hostess, how would you handle this situation?

Drink the wine until it looked appetizing.

That was the only way I could eat the snails I was presented by some friends in France...

With honesty. Hell; I'd eat just about anything but I draw the line at dead fish if it wasn't swimming a few hours ago! And veal. Baby cows? Really now........

Well, so far it hasn't happened to me. Many times in situations like this, one has to be "in the happening" to know what they would do, most likely I would plead allergy, or something like that. My son and daughter in law love sushi, and I just can't even think about eating it, but I have made it through a meal with California rolls, and just been not so stuffed when leaving.

I simply can't eat something that I don't like,or looks or smells unappetizing to me.I just can't! I'd hate to upset the hostess,but it's better to tell her the truth than to force myself to eat it then throw up and really offend her! Or,if I really have to, I'll just outright lie and claim that I'm allergic to it!

I'd make my phone go off, and say, "I'm so sorry! My horses are out and eating my neighbors flowers!" And out the door I'd trot.
