I was blocked for mere difference of opinion by someone who posted a question asking SodaHeaders to, "Rave this if you think blocking people just for disagreeing with your opinion is cowardly and pathetic!" Is that hypocrisy or something else?

Time and time again here on SodaHead I have encountered folks who have a bad habit of PROJECTING. That is, accusing others of the very same faults they themselves have.

I'm wondering if that is the only way they have of coping with facts about themselves they find unpleasant to admit.

That's the only thing I've been blocked for, I believe. I've never said anything hateful to anyone, except in return. I don't believe in blocking. A guy threatened me one day, I didn't block...haven't seen him around since though.

Yes that is obviously hypocrisy. I am new here and don't understand the problem with blocking. I am sure there will eventually be some people that I don't want to talk to again. If that happens I will block them. I wont be a whiner who complains about it either.

It is also a sure sign of a weak mind and poor constitution. They can't deal with other people's opinions on a rational basis, so they just force them to go away. It just shows us their weakness. I have never blocked ANYONE. I have been blocked a few times. The people who blocked me removed all doubt as to their utter prickishness before they did.

Personally, I cannot imagine a situation other than outright harrassment that would cause anyone on here to block someone. We come here to debate, We do have a number of quite immature members posting on here sometimes. I have no cure for immaturity except time and sometime even time won't do it.

Sir, ignorance is not stupidity but lack of knowledge of which we are all guilty. I do see an aweful lot of emotion not backed by facts on here. A lot of repititious party or philosophical line, both ends of the spectrum, spouted like a robotic response here as well. But then, whatever trims you tree......
