I really think that I'm bi sexual... But Got prohibits this... What should I do? What should I say to my family?

~Here Comes The Sun~ 2012/08/20 03:16:17
I was a atheist before, now I'm on the path of being religious.
I Know that God doesn't like gays, lesbians and bi's... But I cant help feeling this way.

You!

If there is a God, then He/She/It/They will be morally advanced enough to love and accept you no matter what your sexuality. Anyone who tells you different is just trying to push their own prejudices onto what they believe God is.

ignore the religious bigotry, if a god exists then it wouldn't care what sexual orientation you are.

edit: there are several on this post that are proselytizing and calling it a sin. ignore them, they are idiots.

The idea that "God doesn't like gays" is a highly contested one. I know it's too much to ask you to read all of what's in this link (I have read it), but it is a really in-depth discussion of the opposite side of the arugment: http://www.soulforce.org/reso...

I know plenty of gay Christians who do not live in shame.

God does not prohibits it at all. The Old Testament was abandon by christians decades ago and they no longer follow it.

yet people still follow it. the abrahamic books can be interpreted in soo many ways that anything can be true if looks at the right way.

The Jews still follow it. Christians use it to point fingers at other groups they do not approve of.

Well I'd were gonna go by your guy's logic "god" created you as you are so shouldn't you be yourself? there's always the chance that the guys who wrote up the bible got things wrong.

You are who you are. No one can change that, and according to all religions, no one on this Earth has the right to judge you.

Keep praying and reading the Bible, let God guide you on a personal level and reveal His will for your life. I honestly don't know if God has a problem with homosexuality in the context it's practiced in today...but I do know He loves everyone, including homosexual and bi people, and He will help you change if that's His will. Never let your struggles prevent you from coming closer to God.
As for what to say to your family, are you talking about being religious or being bi? Either way, I think honesty is the best policy, but you don't have to tell them everything right away.

If any type of god exists I highly doubt that he/she would dislike you just because you're bisexual.

God likes all people, God may not approve of what we do, but it is between you and your God on how you will be judged. Depending on how you lead your life, and how you treat others is all that really matters. Keeping your sexual decisions as private affairs would be a great start

last time I heard god was supposed to love everyone, and if your religion tells you different you might want to reconsider that faith...

Don't worry about that. You are what you are, and not many people follow God's word 100% anyway. :)

Follow the word of God the best that you can. There is not one of us without sin not one. Try to avoid getting in situation that would expose your weakness. May God bless and strengthen You.
