I have a fear of large manmade objects?

Does anyone else have this? Like they frighten me! The titanic, ships underwater, just the general underside, or side of ships, planes, large trampolines, water tanks, etc!

i have always been terrified of ships & gas tanks. Nightmares about titanic !!

This is kind of like mine, although it is not underwater objects. it happened to me on the train, i was looking at the advertisments and started realising how not a single one was just a natural photograph - it was all photoshopped/CGI and started freaking out even more when I realised i was in a big man made object travelling through the country with nothing 'organic' about its materials. is this weird or do people get it and does anyone know what this is caused by or called? Thanks

I have that too!

The huge cranes from building sites, that are a miilion stories tall, look like dinosaurs to me. Oh, I hate them! lol

If you mean like a phobia, not really.

Like, in Space Camp, the HUGE shuttle in the museum-like-thing? I'm afraid it will fall on me, or a bridge. Or a huge ship.

I understand it, but I don't have it.

When I was real little I hated any tall building.
Just bein' outside, not even goin' inside.
Sometimes the clouds moving behind 'em made 'em look like they was falling at me.
I would scream and try to run away.
I might even run in the street when cars was coming.
My mom would grab my arm and say "What the hell's the matter with you?"
"That building ain't falling!"
But I grew out of that.

I understand because I have studied psychology. Have you been diagnosed with having any problems yet? You may have what is called "Megalophobia" It is not uncommon, a lot us us have some form of this phobia and it's not 'big thing'...lol...sorry, just thought I'd lighten your fear.

Our head shrink asks if the anxiety comes on only when the objects are "above" you. He's researching the condition and will try to help.

No, doesn't have to be above me, it can be next to me, or infront of me, it does generally effect me when it's above me, but not just then

Sammy said it's closely related to a fear of heights but you're not the one that could fall, everything else can. He advised you get counseling from someone that is willing to consider that. Good luck, hope you beat it!

That they are really large! I feel really, nervous around them, there becomes a lump in my throat. Like watching the titanic and seeing its under side when it is sinking makes me feel really scared, and when it's underwater I find it difficult to look at

It's almost as if you have a fear of these things falling on you or something. That's just what it sounds like to me in a way. That could be very terrifying.
