Really?

I hear people say they hate Americans, Russians, Muslims, Christians, Jews, list goes on and on. But seriously, how can you hate all those people you don't know?

Disclaimer: I know not everyone feels this way but still ,I hear it a lot.and I just don't get it.

    Love and hate are emotional bonds. Those bonds have to be created on an individual basis. You can dislike a religion, culture, race, etc really bad but in order to hate them you have to know them. Otherwise the emotions aren't there.

    It is so much easier to hate someone you don't know at all. Once you get to know them, you can see the things they have in common with you. Then hating all of them is equivalent to hating parts of yourself, so you will eventually hate yourself much more or hate them less.

    Its pretty hard to really hate everything about somebody that you know well.

    a person can not hate someone they have never met or known in all honesty for we are all human and all bleed the same no matter the skin colour, race, political or religous views in life. I can honestly say I have never met a person I hated before I knew them but there are afew I would like to forget completely.

    and lets not forget those who make flase claims about religion based upon their own opinions too. For God is a sigular spirit who as Daw points out spoke with the word (Jesus) when he said lets create man in our image. hence this also shows us that if there was only two God and the word then their was never a trinity cause their is no third person in the Beginning thanks Daw for wanting everyone to understand the truth that God is loving and kind and gave man the features of him that God has in order for us to draw closer to our maker as we see us in God image each day in the mirror way cool

    ps Daw if there is no God then their is no Satan so your horns would say something about you personally.

    (Genesis 1:26) The [Elohim] said, "Let us make humanity in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild beasts and all the reptiles that crawl upon the earth." Elohim is a plural word, including male and female, and should properly be translated "Gods" or "Pantheon." (1: 27) The Gods created humanity in the image of themselves, In the image of the Gods they created them, Male and female they created them.

    Elohim means GODS and Goddess

    ASK THEM if hating makes them feel good, and if they realize how lame saying that makes them sound. You're right, claiming to hate an entire group of people you don't agree with doesn't make sense. Then again, hating doesn't make sense.

    When I had to go to Belgium for a diamond buy when I worked at a jewelry store, the hatred people felt for Americans was frightening. This was 11 years ago, and I refused to ever go back. Never would I feel that way for any nationality, race, or religion. And I do only pity liberals.

    I was only 16 when Bush was in office in your country, but the hate felt toward America is not as bad now as it was then. This is just my observation in my country, Please don't shoot the messenger.

    I"m sorry you had to go through that in Belgium, your experience is an example of how people hate around the globe towards groups of people they don't know.

    Many, many people, maybe even most people, love simple answers, simple explanations, and simple statements. They don't like to think.

    It's easier to look at the images from September 11, 2001 and say, "Islam is evil" than it is to look at the sociopolitical complexities that led to those events. It's easier to blame the lack of jobs on those brown-skinned people who speak a different language than to examine economic trends and our own desire for cheap, plentiful goods. It's easier to feel protected by our government from threats of foreign communist or socialist nations than to think about the possibility that the biggest threat to our way of life comes from our own domestic corporations.

    These people are happy with their Fox News view of our nation, and they desperately wish to believe that all our problems will instantly evaporate the very moment that Barack Obama leaves the White House. There's about as much chance of that as there is that they'll win the Mega Millions jackpot, but hey - they'll still buy a ticket.

    You don't like yourself either! Your dislike for people you never met says that you don't know who you are and you dislike you. Look in the mirror and said, "I am somebody and I love myself and I don't have to hate other people especially I haven't even met them." You might just feel better after that.(:

    I don't think that 'hate' is the word most people actually want. "Dismiss" might be more accurate. I hated Osama Bin Laden-- was glad to see him go.

    On the other hand, there are probably billions of people I simply dismiss as uncivilized, to my way of thinking. I don't wish ill upon them. but I roll my eyes when I read about their outrage at being marginalized or discriminated against.

    I'm not talking about Blacks, Asians, Caucasians, etc. I mean ideologues who live to oppress and mutilate. I think a lot of people find this distasteful, as well-- with good reason.

    I don't view this as racism or "x-phobia" because it's not who they ARE that creates the problems-- it's what they DO. Maybe it's an overly-broad brush to paint them with... I don't know. Their cultures mean nothing to me, and if this is how they choose to define themselves, I can't relate.

    A lot of the rhetoric from people who claim to "respect and honor" other cultures is just that-- rhetoric. No reasonable individual in the 21st century can seriously defend things like institutionalized misogyny, ritual mutilation and summary executions. Even worse than those who defend it are those who condone it from within. They see these things happening all the time-- they, above anyone else, should *do* somet...

    I'm sure some will revile me as a bigot, but I have no time for culturally-sanctioned atrocities. The only difference between one tyrant and a whole society of them is the math. Tyranny is tyranny, however widespread it may be.

    Human beings are essentially tribal, anyone who is an outsider or doesn't share their collective views is looked on with suspicion. To enforce their feelings of superiority those looked upon as 'different' are pigeon holed, generally excluded, and often stereotyped. Which is at the root of xenophobia, which ultimately leads to racism, which in turn fosters animosity and hated between groups.

    People who have low self-images need to find someone they can point to as "lower" than they are. Such people often form groups where others, like themselves, also derive false self-approval from the same source.

    When someone says, "ALL X are Y", you can be nearly sure that the speaker is a person who has not benefited humankind in any meaningful way.

    And, knows it.

    Hate...

    Hate...

    People hate that many people because they are psychopathic, sadistic, blinded by fury, or just plain ignorant. People use this term very loosely. To hate someone is to not give them a second thought on taking their lives. If they are in pain, you feel nothing for them. Some cases you would celebrate their suffering, borderline psychopathic or sadistic. You have a grandiose mentality over them, and wouldn't take a second thought to crush them like an insect under your boot. That is HATRED!

    There is no different levels of hate. Hate is hate! You can't get any worst than hate.

    Most people who do hate are ignorant.

    Love doesn't always save you,

    "Sometimes I wish for falling, wish for the release;
    Wish for falling through the air, to give me some relief;
    because Falling is not a problem, when I'm falling I'm at peace;
    It's only when I hit the ground it causes all the grief." - Florence + The Machine

    but damnit, love feels so much peaceful and natural.

    The problem is 'HATE'... not enough LOVE.

    For whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” LOVE DOES NO HARM to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

    Look at places like the Daily Mail website if you want a nice indicator of how such generalisations are formed :)
