I LOVE them!
Native Americans have a real thing for the flag. Books have been written about how we have incorporated the American flag into our culture.
The tradition of the arrest of Arlo Guthrie for wearing a flag converted into a shirt should have been vigorously continued when Dick Cheney wore the exact same design of shirt at a fund raiser for G. Dubya... and unlike almost every other category of crimes should it include a corporal beating especially for Mr. Cheney... Flags make stupid clothes Sister
I have seen here some different ways of diplaying the US flagLets say not always in a way I think is proper use of the U.S. flag.
In a way, we Dutch, are more lucky in that.
Our national flag is red-wite-blue.
But because the Dutch Royal House is called The House of Orange
It wasacquired through inheritance of the Principality of Orange in southern France, in 1544.
So with celebrations like Koninginnedag (Queensday) or at international soccer games, or sportevents etc you will mainly see people dressed in the colour orange.
...it's a bit confusing. I'm left wondering if it's their way of expressing patriotism or of expressing disdain for the American way. So I just let it go and try not to judge.
