The new secret weapon of the Olympics and a extraordinary new exercise tool for the general population. I wonder where this will lead in the future? Less injury, better health, something most anyone could do because it is used for physical therapy patients as well. See video at link below.

I just might have to find a gym that has a Hydraworks. I have pretty advanced osteoarthritis in my right toe, and that makes lower body cardio painful.

Looks great, I would love to try it, and the best part is that it's made in the U.S-more jobs.

My only concern is that it's known that some people, mostly older, have had heart attacks on treadmills. If someone is hydra-treading alone and that happens they will drown.

I wonder if the weight taken off would help though? But that is an excellent concern. They must have a lifeguard where these are being used...I would think, unless it's an at your own risk kind of thing. You know, like at hotels, where there is no lifeguard.

lol, you might be right, perhaps reducing the extra weight decreases stress on the heart.

I too think it's gonna be an "at your own risk" kinda thing. I still think it's an amazing product though.

Me too, because even if you are not injured or have any health conditions, this type of training can prevent it. I LOVE that. So many runners end up with injuries because of stress to the joints...my own husband already has arthritis in the knees and now can't do much of the bike riding and running he loves. But he could do this for hours if he wanted and stay in the same great shape. Even that teen boy in the video just loves it. He knows he is doing something just as effective but without much chance of injury.

100%. A lot of runners have to have knee surgery by the time they're older because of the damage. The sad thing is we will have to go to a facility to use it, it's not practical for the home, but I'm all for it.

I can see this being used as a rehab tool also as well as a tool for low impact walking exercise.

Yes, I think they mention in the video that they have been used for years for rehab. What's more new is that now most Olympians use them for training and some regular people too...so it's coming out as a more commonplace regimen.

And very healthy in that there isn't much harm that could come to you from doing it but you reap the same benefits. I love it. I hope this becomes as regular in gyms as treadmills.

I'll wait & see during the Olympics. Water treatments have always been sucessful to some degree for muscle injury along with ice.

And just think how this will prevent much of the injury for people! So great. They get the same benefit too. I think of my husband with arthritis in the knees. It's too much to do heavy exercise, although our elliptical isn't bad at all for him either. Gliding motion. But this would be awesome too!
