    Welcome to Hope and Change.

I hope the only people that are hungry are those that voted for this crap.

Poor decision making is hitting middle class families. Iphone or 500 in ramen noodles and mac-n-cheese? Big screen or hamburger? Car payment or a fishin pole? All easy choices.

I thought middle class meant you can afford life. If you don't buy luxurious crap and you still can't afford enough food then you live in poverty. And if the middle class lives in poverty, then there is no middle class.

50 million hungry people in what is supposed to be the wealthiest nation on the planet. Bodes well for the future, doesn't it? There is no excuse for a statistic of this nature, other than outright greed, because the food is there, in plenty.

Around my area...a 5 Lb. chub of ground beef used to be about $7.50...four yrs. ago....Now it's $13! And was in the store the other day and saw a regular size jar of Mayonnaise...the generic brand at $3.49....$3.49, ...and it was on a mark down sale!
Combine that with the increased costs of everything else...Yeah, I'd say people are going hungry. Or at least have to forgo other things just to feed their families!
So much for all that "hope and change" ...but Obamy said in his speech..."I'll do better if you'll just give me for more yrs."...And the sheeple are buying it!

I honestly don't know what the situation is in America so I don't know, but I truly hope not! I would think that, unless there is actually a food shortage, if you are going without enough food than you are not middle class.

Not to the extent that it used to. These days in the west we have organizations that give food for just about anyone, we have food stamps, aid.

Missing a meal every now and again that you're used to isn't 'going hungry' it's simply cutting back on what you're used to. Besides, most of these families will live a house with furniture and tvs etc. it's about prioritizing your needs.

Where I live it's practically illegal to "go hungry" or not be given food if you're hungry, you can just walk into any hospital and say that you're starving and you'll be given a hot meal and a bed. Or any food shelter for that matter.

Food stamps don't help the economy. And it shouldn't be illegal to go hungry, people should be taught to share and help those in need.
  • Rave MorbidC... 2012/09/07 13:27:15
    Rave
No they don't, but if you're truly hungry or your family is, your priority is to make sure you get what you need to keep yourself and your loved ones alive.

It's not illegal to go hungry, but it's illegal for hospital/shelter workers to refuse food for someone who needs it.

Sharing and helping those in need is good of course, but not everyone cares much about others.

They aren't middle class under those terms. Is the food budget being adjusted is a better way of asking. I hear people complain, but they still pay$ 100. For cable. I don't do cable, I have better things to do.

are we talking about missing breakfast or something? we've got something like 50 million people on food stamps and a food pantry charity on every corner. There are people out there having a very hard time, but no one is going hungry. I'm talking about malnutrition, on the verge of starvation, Africa hungry.

Middle class, I always considered myself middle class, but I guess you have to make at
least $250,000 and up to be middle class. I still think i'm middle class, I worked hard all
my life, but had alot of struggles. I never felt that someone owes me, or someone should give up there money and just give it to me. I believe people help other because they want.

If Obama is re-elected we'll all know hunger. They came to my house last night to do a survey, it pays $90! Taxpayer money spent to find out what I eat and drink! How about taking all those $90 checks and actually feeding people. You can't eat government!

Sadly the hope and change is fading. Hope for the future is fading. The changes are sad and getting worse. I didn't vote for him. Neither did many of the people I know. They all feel the sting. Everyone pays for the actions of the stupid, and gullible. This is why I wish there was a test to vote.

Its crazy really, food is one of the thing we have plenty of in this country, enough that we export a lot of it, yet people are hungry, if your not on snap benefits, groceries are outrageous and then add taxes in many states on top of that cost and its no wonder people cant afford to eat, even those in the lower middle class. The sad thing is I dont remember hearing our candidates talk about getting the cost of food down, one wants to just hand out more foodstamps and the other... who knows.

yes people are spending themselves into the poorhouse keeping up with the Jones and sometimes food is the last item brought into the house. that's why children sometimes the only food they get is the meals at school. some schools are serving breakfast, lunch and a snack in the afternoon so children will be fed. some children are getting food to take home on Friday for the weekend. this isn't just poor children it's middle class children too

This election isn't funny folks....real people need real jobs, we need cheaper gasoline, not flying saucers and unicorns, we need to stop spending, not solyndra-ing, we need to show strength in the world clearly, back our allies, and make our enemies afraid to test us.

This election could not be clearer.
