theresa.malloy2 2012/07/19 21:50:06Yes+6We had a black lab she was 12 .Last week she was limping on her left paw .We took her to the vet 3 times and they could not figure out what was wrong but each day it got worse .Early this morning she had a seizure so we ran her to the ER Vet and they said she had brain cancer . It was so hard to let her go but we knew it was best for her . I went in the room and gave her a hug and kiss and said good bye , she was sedated due to a test they had just run so she just looked at me for a second and went back to sleep. My husband could not even say good bye. They offered a clay paw print I wanted it my husband said no .Each person handles loss in their own way . I loved my lab but she was my husbands best friend. They did everything together. Its cliché but i do find comfort in knowing her pain is over .

And for me the toughest was a little yorkie that I hade for 11 year I went through middle school and high school and some college with her everyday waiting at the door when I came home she would sleep in my bed even try to lick my legs clean after I gotnout the shower (tried be the emphasized part lol" two years ago she started getting sick and develop a Large tumor and just kinda wasted away she was a grand mother we had one from each litter they were with me which I dug her grave and even sat by it awhile afterwards
I've found, over the yeas that the other dogs and a new pup are a great comfort.
A Scottish Terrier at age 14.
A Bombay Cat at age 9.
A brown bunny at age 5.
To this day I still look back on it as one of the hardest things I had to do.
I know it was the right thing to do but I still wish I didn't have to do it.
