Leave them alone...
Is it our place to interfere?
How would you cure the Middle East problems?

I've no idea how to fix the failed states there though. The only solution I've heard proposed for them is rather... Mongolian, and I don't really think building a mountain of skulls from the populations of towns that refuse to submit would work in this era.
If we could cure our dependency on their oil we wouldn't be so involved in their problems to begin with.
But it will take a generation or two. It might be sensible to let it happen and not interfere too much.
I'm sure if all those people had jobs they wouldn't have time to create the turmoil going on there.
Purchase no products from them
Send them no aid
Refuse to allow their citizens within our country (and do not allow ours in their countries)
We have more oil than they do, we don't NEED anything from there (we even have our own sand).
I just gave my answer.
I'm not in power nor likely to be, so whatever I say is irrelevant.
Easier said than done, I know.
