How paranoid are you? Do you think some entity other than SodaHead itself is tracking your responses?

More than likely. There isn't a place on the net that isn't monitored.

No, why would anyone bother to do that?
    Willski
    No reason for them too.
While i believe people may track me on the internet (due to what probably makes a suspicious search history) i don't believe anyone would bother with a site like sodahead.

It is not paranoia. There has been plenty made public that the gov is doing this. I do not know how closely they monitor what I do, but I would be naive to believe they ignore me.

Answering my own question, I happen to believe that all social networks, including Twitter, Facebook, SodaHead and others are tracked. Boredom at reading inane posts ( and yes, there are a lot of them) has nothing to do with it. There are computer algorithms that check for key words and phrases. For example, I used the acronyms FBI and CIA in this question and this answer. I'd bet my next pension check that shows up on somebody's radar. I don't expect any problem from it. It just is what it is. The Patriot Act (there's another key phrase, fellas), essentially guarantees this. We have given up certain freedoms for some measure of security, and that's not likely to change, unless to escalate. It bothers me some but I really don't get in a twist about it, because I personally have nothing to hide and have adjusted to the idea that Big Brother is watching, pretty much all the time now.

I know for sure that Microsoft had made an agreement with The U.S. government and placed a program in every Microsoft product that is spyware. All it does is when someone writes the words like Bombs or Stinger missiles or Alqeida or anything like that. The powers that be, can," If they wanted to", Go thru that program and dump all your info onto their hard drive and sift thru it and see if you are a threat to national security. It used to be called," MS Agent". If you are not a threat then I wouldn't worry about it. They have long since changed the name of the program and or have put it into hidden files. So hackers can't mess with it.

WTF would they want to do that for! 'They' would be bored to tears wading through all the inanities posted on this site and others just like this one-and more to the point, for the life of me, I can't see what they would learn that would be of the slightest value to them. After all, they must already know how pretty stupid the average 'Joe Soap' is!..

Do you understand it isn't people that do these searches? It is done by computers. If the computers hit on enough things that it is programmed to flag, it will spit out out and then humans get involved. The NSA is huge and it is all about technology. They are building an even bigger NSA as we speak. DHS and NSA are the main ones doing this kind of work. There have been enough things made public by them that shows they are monitoring Americans.

fine - if I pop up, then some human will see how boring I am. This type of stuff has been going on for years they are just getting better at it - I did not say it was good, only that it exists and has existed in a different form.
