How on earth is it possible that J.F.K.'s brain got "lost"?

I was watching Mythbusters earlier, and the expert they were talking with said his brain wasn't buried with his body. It was given to the National Archives for safe keeping and they somehow lost it. Last I checked brains don't just get up and walk away????????
