I was 22 when I got my GED, and I had two young sons. I was always a good student. I never thought I would drop out of high school second semester of 12th grade, but I did. I had to go to work full time. It is what it is, I cannot go back and change the past, if I could of there is a whole lot of things I would of avoided. Thing is, I did go back and I did eventually become an EMT and then a nurse. It was hard doing all this with young sons. I have made many mistakes in my 45 years here on earth, I imagine I will do many more.

    I never graduated, per se.

I took the GED exam a week before I was awarded my first college degree, because apparently the law forbade them from giving me my degree without a high school diploma. :/

Yeah, I was 17 as well. I turned 17 in August and graduated a few months after. At the time I was a bit disappointed that I hadn't been born later in the year, so I could have graduated at 16.

Why did you call me "gkirmani/La"? Gkirmani is a different person....

20, just recently actually. I got really sick when I was about 16. And had to make up almost 3 years of credits.

17 is actually considered "early" in the USA.
I wanted to drop out and just take the GED test much earlier, but my state had a minimum age of 16 to do that, so I decided to hang around one more year.
How sickening is it that they force you to stay in school longer than you need to, even if you can already test out?
