Since I canceled cable I rarely watch TV, I occasionally rent a movie or watch youtube videos which is why I said 1-3 hours, because I'm not totally video free... but I haven't watched cable or air television in about 2 years. It frees you in a way where you think more of things you want to do, rather than always using TV as a crutch.

People who may be physically disabled so they don't have much else that they can do... I'm sure there are many situations where people find themselves confined to a bed... tv offers them at least a chance to escape that reality.

T.V. makes me bitter toward mankind... This last few generations have grown up around almost constant sass and smartellic nonsense. How do you retrieve crops of young minds from this daffy land of mind plaque media hurled at us adnauseam..? It infects us... it becomes us... I HATE IT...!

I rarely close the t.v. I can't sleep with out it (I'm afraid of the dark) and I can't sit anywhere boring with nothing going on. BUT DON'T WORRY, I rarely have the lights open (just the t.v) so that makes up for the wasted energy....I think.

you better always switch on your lights when you watch tv - it's very bad for your eyes if you watch tv or a computer monitor in the dark

A chunk of that is actually Netflix rentals. I like to play concert videos while I'm working. I can do stuff and I don't have to sit ans watch, just listen.

never owned a TV, I work unsociable hours, when I'm sleeping, the TV programmes are on, when I'm home & awake, the TV doesn't broadcast, TV licences over here are very, very expensive, I don't earn enough to afford that added expense

Have not been able to get any good TV reception since the Government switched all of the US stations to Digital. My TV now only gets one local station which I really have no interest in, so I unplugged it and put it away. I really do not miss TV at all. There are much better things to do with my time.

On weekends, the TV remains on all day long. FoxNews .. . . Giants Baseball .. . . During NCAA Football Season, on Saturdays; all day long . . . There is no routine about "regular scheduled programs" except, maybe 60Minutes . . . And I usually like to Watch Malou on Sundays @ 5:00-5:30 PM but that's about it . . . I use the TV-Early-AM; following my taking-a-shower, and getting dressed-for-work; but that's just because of the weather, and that's about it.
