Milk seems to be getting more and more expensive. It is especially bad for those who have small children.

    Pretty Cheap.
Milk is still cheap. We don't use gallons but 2 pints (which is about 1 litre) is around 90p.

I paid $2.19 for a half gallon yesterday, but I live in a small town with just one food store and it is closer to a convenience store then an actual grocery store. I never buy full gallons because I don't use that much. A half gallon will last me 2 to 3 weeks easily. Butter, now that I use. It has gone crazy. Cheap and on sale would be $1.90 a pound, normal is about 2.75 a pound.

I've never bought milk in the US, where I used to live it was 1 Leu for 4 Liters, about $0.30.

2.90-$5.00 a gallon. Look at everything else too cause all food prices are going up.

Our local Krogers store has had a gallon of milk(2%) for $1.29 for at least 2 months. Do not know how long this will last but it helps!
  • Soojin hayesml47 2010/12/02 06:38:06
Our deals aren't quite that good, but living in farm country has its advantages! :)
  • hayesml47 Soojin 2010/12/02 12:55:14
It is kind of strange that a half gallon of milk costs $1.69 and the gallon $1.29. Apparently it is a promotional price by a new dairy in our area. We used to live in a farm area and it does have quite a few advantages! Kind of miss the laid back, relaxed atmosphere there!

Krogers is where I have been getting it for 99 cents for the last two months... but it was also that price at Target and Aldi that I know of.
  • hayesml47 I am me 2010/12/02 17:59:04
Market street has been matching that price also! Ain't competition great!

Ugh! I'm too far away to go to Market Street, though I would if I could because I grew up shopping at United in the Panhandle and South Plains.... but yes it is... When I was living in an Apartment I had a Tom Thumb, 2 Krogers and an Albertson's all within a mile and a half of my apartment... Then 2 miles out it was Walmart and those smaller chains that sell things even cheaper... I think that's why we have awesome grocery prices here in the DFW metroplex... and now that HEB is trying to get their foot in the door, as they have been trying to for years... But I am grateful for it and hope it stays this way... because I can't imaging having to pay $4 for milk...
  • hayesml47 I am me 2010/12/02 18:50:26
Do you know where HEB is trying to get started in the DFW area? My wife got addicted to HEB when we lived in San Antonio and Austin. If they get established here in DFW land it will definitely help keep our grocery prices down! Thanks for the info!
