Summer is here, but soon enough students will be heading back to school. Of course, it's always a good idea to get as much of that back-to-school shopping done as you can ahead of time, but that's not always how it pans out. There's so much ground to cover, and classes have a tendency to creep up on you. Before you know it, you're sitting in math class without a calculator. Not an ideal situation, but hey. Sometimes that's just how it goes.

Whether you're a current student or the parent of a student, we want to know about your back-to-school shopping habits. Do you always manage to get it out of the way before school starts? Do you have your kids buy their own supplies? Who influences the purchase decisions? Take our 10 question Quick Poll and let us know. We'd love to hear from you!

I don't really get how that would be a thing... I was never influenced to buy certain things.

I am not a student, but I did have 8 years of higher education. What other students purchased had no impact on me.

No, I usually just buy whatever I feel like. They're just school supplies, not a fashion or identity statement.

I believe that to students from middle school through highschool all think that if you have the latest technology you are the "bomb". Me being one of those middle school students I believe that it is good to have working utensils and such but not to overdo yourself by arguing over the fact if you want an over-the-shoulder bag or a bag with wheels or just a normal one because it has one purpose: To carry your books.

As for a comment I read down below: Bookbags with wheels is not "out" right now and it is still "in", just like the shoes with the wheels are, in fact, still in. Please refrain from being rude or disrespectful in your posts for this is a simple survey. Thank you.

My group and I are all into anime, so we tend to collect merchandise from our favorite shows. Bandannas, necklaces, wristbands, shirts, pins, buttons, manga, bookbags, notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, con badges; we all have our own few things that tell one another that we're all into anime, no matter how dorky or 'otaku' we look. I had a young worker at Bojangles point out that I was wearing my Animazement 2012 con badge, she asked me who I cosplayed as that year and we, two strangers who'd never talk to each other otherwise, found a common ground to stand on because I was wearing a simple strap of fabric with a piece of colored plastic. I'm hoping something similar will happen on my first day of high school this coming fall.

Where was I going with this? Oh yeah! What I'm trying to say is that the kind of things I use and the things I wear tells people "This is who I am, this is what I like, and if you're into it too, then come and talk to me 'bout it!"

It's not what you buy it's what KIND you buy. You have to have a cool bookbag, cool binders, pencils, pens, notebooks, EVERYTHING!

God forbid you just have a normal 1 color bookbag! You'll get laughed out of school! Or at least my elementary school was that way. Book bags HAD to have wheels (for some reason it was VERY cool to pull your books around) and it HAD to have some kind of TV character on it, back in the mid/late 90's and early 2000's

Ew that is so weird! At my school, kids are immediately labeled as dorks and bullied if they have roller backpacks. I don't make the rules, but i still think anyone who has a roller backpack is probably at least a little mentally off. I'm so sorry you were stuck having one in elementary school. :(

I loved mine, when I was a kid. Different schools, different rule, different "cool"!

Really? Well at least it made you happy. :) I bet several years into the future, everything popular today is going to be extremely dorky. Haha, good thing i don't follow the trends.
