My father always said that along with epithets from Polish, which I can not find the right translation.
I had been told that it meant:
    que vieja cabra

Just English... fluently. I'm polite in Japanese, but I can order two beers in more than 10 languages, so if get stranded overseas, I can usually find someone willing to help.

Well, I can speak 2 fluently, English and Welsh, but I know a fair bit of Latin and know French conversationally. Basically, other than English, the languages I am proficient in are basically useless.

    I forgot Welsh!

Hapus Dewi Sant dydd! (Mae'n ddrwg gennym Dwi'n hwyr).

I learned all my Welsh from the age of three until the age of nine when I was at school in Wales in the sixties. Back then the teachers were very politically motivated as Welsh was disappearing rapidly as a spoken language.

I learned HUNDREDS of Welsh folk songs from a great teacher, and I can still sing most of them now.

    Cyfri'r Geifr
    Oes gafr eto?
    Oes heb ei godro,
    Ar y creigiau geirwon
    mae'r hen afr yn crwydro.

    Gafr wen, wen, wen,
    Ie finwen, finwen, finwen,
    Foel gynffonwen, foel gynffonwen
    Ystlys wen a chynffon,
    Wen, wen, wen.

Substituting all the other colours ddu (black), goch (red), las (blue), binc (pink) and repeat the second part with each of the colours, but at double speed.

Heh. Only a month late. Here, have a daffodil dewi sant daffodil
It's still steadily disappearing as a language. I fear it will have the same end as Cornish. I'm actually English, so I was not taught Welsh in school. I learned most of it as an adult. It's such a beautiful language. A ydych yn dal i fyw yng Nghymru?

I'm only fluent in English. However, I do know a tiny bit of Spanish. I took a few semesters of Spanish in college. Of course, I haven't practiced lately, so I've gotten a lot of what I use to know.

Yes, languages are one of those damned things where you need to practice in order to retain it all. Wouldn't it be nice if you could just learn it once and remember it all?

My native tongue is English, and I also speak Japanese. I've lived in Japan, and my husband is from Japan, so I've had quite a lot of practice. I have learned some Thai since I've lived in Thailand, but I wouldn't say that I "speak" Thai, necessarily.
