According to the joke, I guess I am American-and-a-half.

I speak English fluently as it's my native tongue, and have been struggling to become fluent in German for way too many years. I get very anxious and hyperfocused on mistake-making and let this get in my way of practicing. ::sigh...::

vielleicht mit genug weibier knnen wir machen es mglich german language

(Wenn Jemand möchtet, mir zu helfen, bitte senden Sie mir eine SodaHead-Nachricht. Vielleicht mit genug Weißbier können wir machen es möglich.)

I speak English fluently, and German conversationally. I used to be quite proficient in Spanish, but in the course of learning German I forgot it all. I can also say "Grapefruit" and "Stapler" in French.

I only speak one... and not so well all the time.
I've studied French and can identify many of the nouns but trying to figure out the conjugation of the verbs is beyond me right now. So, I know when someone gives me directions in Paris, that they may be telling me to "______ Church______ river____ to the corner and _______ " So in this case a limited amount of knowledge can be dangerous.

There is not much point in learning a language that no one else arounds you speaks. It may give you a chance to pat yourself on the back. It may look impressive on your resume. I took french in highschool but have never met anyone from France or who speaks french. They did not offer German or Swedish which at least would have been useful when my relatives were speaking over the kids heads.
