How many job applications did you have to put in before you got your current job or last job? If you are an employer, how many do you go through every day or week?
I put in a good 6-7 applications, until I came across my new job which I've had for over a year now. It's much better than a lot of the places I applied to
i got my job by having to move home for a while.i got the phone book out.called my current employer, interviewed twice, and i have been with the same company for 5 years.
About 6 to 10 before I got my first actual job. Actually, those applications were not towards my last job. (I'm not employed anymore).
For my last job, the owner came out of his shop and I asked him if he was looking for any help towards his store. He said yes, and we walked to another store as we traded information. I checked out his shop, it was a closeout/antique store, very neat and not pricy at all. I loved it in there and my job. The atmosphere is everything when it comes to how well you perform at a job.
I was laid off in May, thanks to 4$ dollar gas prices, and slow weeks in the whole May and June months. However, I still go back to visit though because I respected my bosses anyway and we shot the duck a lot. Have a coffee and whatnot. Yeah...
I signed up with a temp agency and was matched with my current employer three days later. I worked as a temp for seven months then they hired me and I've been there just over ten years.
None. Seventeen years ago my brother started a company and fourteen years ago he asked me to come work for him. We had 5 employees. Today, we have around 120 employees in our corporate home office, satellite offices in three different states and employees who telecommute throughout the country.
Best employment decision I ever made was agreeing to come work for him.
