How important is Health Care Insurance to y'all?

We all need and should have health insurance. Why do Americans insist on believing they have the finest healthcare system in the world. They have been sold a bill of goods and drank the cool aid on this one. It is the finest that you can buy like your government. Medicare is a wonderful start and should be expanded to include more people. What's the point of having a wonderful system if it is not available to all? Don't tell me that hospitals take you anyway. They treat you in the ER and demand payment. If it is urgent care and you have no insurance you will be directed to the Public or State Hospital where the taxpayer will pick up the cost. They too will try to collect. Some sort of payment plan will be worked out but many just ignore the bill. The young, who believe they will neve get sick, can cost the taxpayer thousands when a serious illness hits.
My husband and I have Medicare and Blue Cross but there is still always something to pay. last year we paid $4000 in medical which cancelled the idea of any vacation. We are lucky to be able to pay but the cost is rising as more and more medicines are not covered by insurance and our BC want to pay for less and less of the difference. Medicare is not the problem the private insurance companies want the premium but not try not to pay out. Providers too are often fussy. One hospital in town does not take Blue Cross because they have their own insurance they want you to buy.

I've lived fine without it since 2004.

But more importantly, I definitely don't want the democrats forcing me to buy it. I support all uprisings and rebellions against Obama-care.

Damn shame the ObamaTAX is going to KILL the best medical system in the WORLD.... we MUST defeat Obama and Harry Reid needs to be the MINORITY leader in the Senate so we can REPEAL the ObamaTax and REALLY fix the problem of uninsured people in the USA.

It's important to have, and since I'm self-employed with pre-existing conditions, I bought high-risk pool coverage for me, and ordinary (BCBS) for wife and two kids. It was not hard to find or buy either policy... Biggest benefit comes from 'negotiated fees' which are a substantial discount from initial invoice amounts for services and procedures. Plus whatever they pay on my behalf. I get my money's worth.

Not worth giving up what remains of freedom..

This is a good question based on the people who still do not understand how horrible obamacare is.

Preventive healthcare is much more important than most people practice. That includes proper diet, good exercise, and top quality nutritional supplements. I would much rather take the effort to stay healthy than to go to a doctor to try to get back to healthy.

i come from from a lower middle , upper lower family we never had to much money so when we get sick we couldnt go to hospitals or the doctors to do anything about it and since i am highly accident prone

VERY IMPORTANT. I have probably gone to the hospital over 150 times in my life cuz of my condition, so I NEED IT!!

HC can, and always ever will be only one of two options. Government run or market based. R's have put forth a market based solution; actually several of them.

It is not right for you to say R's aren't listening when they clearly have put forth what Americans want. The polls show Americans do not want the Socialist system that is about to begin in full right after the election.

There are only two options; therefore the R's have a plan that Americans want.
