How Far Into the Year Do You Do Back-to-School Shopping?

You!
Add Photos & Videos
Summer is here, but soon enough students will be heading back to school. Of course, it's always a good idea to get as much of that back-to-school shopping done as you can ahead of time, but that's not always how it pans out. There's so much ground to cover, and classes have a tendency to creep up on you. Before you know it, you're sitting in math class without a calculator. Not an ideal situation, but hey. Sometimes that's just how it goes.

Whether you're a current student or the parent of a student, we want to know about your back-to-school shopping habits. Do you always manage to get it out of the way before school starts? Do you have your kids buy their own supplies? Who influences the purchase decisions? Take our 10 question Quick Poll and let us know. We'd love to hear from you!

Did anyone think to add an aanswer, "I don't Shop for School supplies"? This is a presumptive question. learn to give the full line of options when you are asking...

Thankfully, I don't have to get involved in this anymore. BUT when I did I was always looking for "good deals" throughout the year. You can finish up the details in August.

For clothing, I try to grab deals the year prior...95% of the time, it works out for sizes and such (for now). As for supplies, I do one large purchase during the summer for the beginning and then pick up things here and there throughout the year.

I no longer have children in school, but I always completed shopping for back to school in one or two days, after school started, so I could also purchase all the supplies, etc. required for certain classes. The tax free weekends were not in effect in TN until after my children graduated from high school, or I would have done all the shopping I could on that weekend!

Not being in school nor having any relations in school, I take advantage of school sales whenever they occur, no sense NOT doing so, especially if it has a tax holiday to go along with it.

Maybe not year-round but in the second half of the school year we start looking/thinking ahead and if something comes up on a good sale, we'll grab it for the next school year. Might as well spread it out a little and take advantages of clearance sales and things like that.

Well for me finding out what my classes are is as easy as signing on to the school website. A good to save money is look around the house and find as much used Binders, pencil cases, Pens Pencils, Scientific calculators Pack packs, Lunch bags. What you don't have you write a list and go buy that. Walmart and Target is your best bet.
