He was given immunity by a wing nut prosecutor and while under immunity was still smuggling drugs into the country.

The injustice is that Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean ever had to stand trial and was exacerbated by the fact they were sent to prison. The injustice was further compounded by Bush lacking the judgment and stones to grant full pardons to Ramos and Compean.
