Hmmm..as an aging parent, my hope is that we can take care of ourselves and not become a burden to either of our kids. We did take my dad into our home when he started the long path of Alzheimer's and know how difficult that was.

I pray you continue on but don't leave your children out when you know you do need their help!

i hope my parents can stay in their home for as long as possible. i think my parents are pretty great people so i don't think i'll mind helping out as they get older...i hope i have the money to help.

you pretty much have to drop everything I guess, if they are ill...unless you have the money to fork out for home care. My mother had to quit her job to take care of my G-mother who was bed ridden. We couldn't find any home care aids that didn't cost $800 a week and that was just from 9-3 monday-friday. Unfortunately, that would totally defeat the purpose of working just to pay someone to care for her. So that was our situation, it's tough but we love her so it was worth it. Now my mom is back in the job market but we all know how that's going.

in-home care is really expensive. i think being able to help parents out is a way to give them back all the help they gave us as kids. best of luck in the job market!

yes love and respect them and let them lead their lives as they can but watch for when they may need help! Not changing their way of living keeping most of the things they love and charish. With fast changes to way of living can demean them and we don't want to
hurt them but keep live safe and secure with all the love you can muster!
