I heard that some individuals spend $200 to $500 a day. To give some perspective, I spend $150 a month on food just for me.

Well, I've watched documentaries about super obese people on tv and I used to wonder how they could afford to eat the amount of food they ate on a daily basis without working (none of these people held a job). This included ordering fast food. These shows revealed that they were on some kind of disability due to their obesity and therefore qualified for food stamps. So, I guess the combination of assistance and SSI or SSD (if they had a work history) helped fee them. Although they showed what they ate in the course of a day, it definitely didn't equal $200 although what was spent weekly was phenomenal for one person.

I'm 550lbs, not home bound, and financially self sustaining (i have my own company). I do not spend 150$ per day on food, but for sure I do spent more on food than the average guy. No need for any support, I like a fat world!

I don't see how it's possible to eat $500 worth of food every day.

I've often wondered that when you hear on TV of a person eating 12 hamburgers a day. Obviously these individuals cannot work as they can barely waddle or get out of bed. I would imagine some are on welfare or have family that enable them. One cannot even imagine what their food bill amounts to.

Good question. I'm about 75lbs overweight, all those pictures make me look fit and trim. I feed a family of 5 on $500 a month - and we eat good. Meat on every plate, not the cheap shit but USDA Choice sirloin, boneless pork loin, and chicken breasts from CostCo. Bacon or sausage at breakfast and deli sandwiches for lunch. I cant figure out how anyone would spend 200 bucks a day on food unless they're eating filet mignon and lobster for Bfast, lunch and dinner.

I don't know. I think it all has to do with the amount they eat and I think it is kind of rare for a person to spend that much. One guy said he had a few plates of pancakes, a plate of bacon, a plate of eggs and a plate of toast for breakfast, a couple of chickens for lunch, a couple of pizzas for dinner, and then there are all the in between snacks. I dunno

" One guy said he had a few plates of pancakes, a plate of bacon, a plate of eggs and a plate of toast for breakfast, a couple of chickens for lunch, a couple of pizzas for dinner, and then there are all the in between snacks"

    Lets see: Pancakes $5-$8,bacon $5,Eggs $2, Toast $5, 2 Chickens $20, 2 pizzas $25, and snacks $15...Thats $75-$80 per day and 15 to 20,000 calories That about 3X what
SSDI and food stamps would bring in. 500 lbs is about the limit to stay in the work force.(I've known a few in that range). That pretty much means a feeder. Maybe its Jabba the Hut style... "I may look helpless, but I've got a spell on you!"

Really in all reality though thier loved ones probably support them, and they cant be all like " ALRIGHT SHERMAN!!!! your 32 now! you need to get out! I bought you that wheelie thingy for transportation and ive already got six bottles of pine-sol ready to disinfect the sofa where youve been sitting for the past 17 years"... the shame is too much for the family and threfore they take on the hardship of feeding a gloat who does little else but eat, truly sad...

They have what is known as a feeder. You should try to get a hold of the documentary called Fat Girls and Feeders, if you're really interested, it's not easy to watch though!xc

Do you know how rare it is to find someone that spends that much on food? And where did you get your information? You are making it sound like every heavy person in the world spends that much on food.

I am not making it sound like they all spend that much. I have seen interviews where people admitted to spending that much. I do know how rare it is and I was asking how they are able to afford it.

$200 to $500 on food per day??!!!
i think i spend about £80 a month on food which works out the same as around $145 but that's per month not per day!!

what the hell do people eat to spend so much??!!

i really have no idea how they can afford that.

and how shocking are those pictures?! especially the one of the children!! okay i understand that some people have conditions that cause them to be obese and it isn't their fault but people who allow their children to get so big just from food... it's a case of neglect!

if you want to do something about it maybe try switching to diet soda? it doesn't taste as good but there is a huge difference is calories, especially if you drink a lot of it.
but it's really better to drink water, that's what i'm trying to do! =)
