The Hop! suitcase can be said to be a "smart" suitcase, where it follows the owner around. The traveler's smart phone syncs with the suitcase, geo-locating the traveler's every step. Should the signal be lost, the traveler will be alerted of that on their phone via a vibration, and the suitcase would lock itself. Would you use one of these suitcases at a busy airport?

I have actually seen a simular thing except it was with a golf bag that holds golf clubs and i thought that it was totally badass. I watched the guy choose a pre-set route for the "dolly" to follow and it did so perfectly even down a steep hill. I think that something like this could promote great business and help the disabled

I can see it now. Here comes the owner of the suit case, and a robotic tongue comes out panting barking joyfully when the owner is near bumping up against the railing of the baggage claim at the airport trying it's best to get to his owner.

cool thought, not practical. See how slow the guy's moving in the vid? It's all hustle and bustle in an airport. People everywhere. They'll trip over it or you can get swollowed up in a crowd and someone can snatch it. I'm sure someone can figure out how to open a locked case.

this is a wonderful everyday application for robotics ... the disabled ... wheelchair bound ... it would even be cooler if it could find you if the airlines lost it .... excellent

If it contained GPS and sent it's location to your phone, it would be really nice. That way when a TSA agent steals it and takes it home, you can get it back.
