The cost of housing and the recession forced some budget-conscious homeowners and renters to combine their backyards, gardens and outdoor space into a communal property.

The Wall Street Journal reports:
A surprising number of homeowners are bucking the notion that good fences make good neighbors and taking down the fences in favor of bigger gardens and more space to entertain. Some are landscaping communally, turning a previously neglected corner into a shared garden and dining space.

- Solomonster 2012/06/13 22:49:26Sharing is Good+2Or atleast it works for us, for the most part. we both have dogs & niether side is like "Hey! Your dog is crapping in my yard!" But I have pits, & sometimes my bigger one scares the neighbor, so he'll go out & fire a shot off to get him to go away, but never at my dog. & sometimes he'll mow my side of the property when doing his. That tripped me out for awhile, but I'm well over it these days. Company sometimes get confused. But that is just something for me to laugh at.reply
