It's Earth Week this week (Earth Day is on Sunday), and if you're like us, you're always looking for new ways to go green. Well, H & M is here to help. Last week, the cheapie (but trendy) chain introduced its first evening wear line, and it just so happens to be made out of sustainable materials.

The collection's eco-friendly materials include organic cotton, hemp and recycled polyester. In fact, the chain already has an eco-friendly line as part of its "Conscious Initiative," but this more glamorous effort is attracting the attention of celebs like Amanda Seyfried, Viola Davis and Michelle Williams, who have all worn pieces from the collection, according to Fashionista.
Prices range from $19.99 for a top to $299 for a floor-length gown (right in time for wedding and prom season). Cocktails dresses cost about $60. And just in case you needed another excuse to stop by H & M on your next trip to the mall, the chain recently announced that they are the No. 1 user of organic cotton in the world. They've also donated 2.3 million garments to charitable causes.

Though having said that, I don't like H&M clothes myself, and will continue to get mine second hand (and usually modify them), and to DIY the rest - that way I get more/complete control over what fabric is used, what the design is, the quality of the garment, where the materials are from etc., not to mention DIY or modifying your own clothes means that you know they'll always be unique, and that you're not puting money into the pockets of various bastard corporations who rely on modern day slavery and pollution and the like to get their money :)
Baaaa Baaaa
Grace to you, Glory to God!
