These fashionable wedge heels look perfect for summer. Only problem is, they’re for toddlers. Yes, that's right: Michael Kors has unveiled the Keely Wedge in sizes 1-5 Youth. You no longer have to wait for your teen years to be stylish.

high heels for kids

The description for the heels read: “Geometric cutouts and shimmering rhinestone studs combine to offer the fashion forward Keely wedge from KORS Michael Kors Kids. This spunky sandal sports a zip heel for easy dressing, and elasticized straps for ultimate comfort. A covered wedge heel adds chic sophistication.”

Sophistication? For an eight-year-old? Parenting blog Babble compares them to “stripper shoes,” but we think they are going a bit too far. These shoes are pretty cute, and could even work for a tween. But for little girls, they are a bit ridiculous. What do you think?

    1. Obviously .. the 'designer' is completely detached from the REALITY of Toddlerhood .. which is running about .. enjoying playtime .. growing and living lives ..
    2. BONES in toddlers are definitely in the formative stages .. these HEELS .. even in adulthood .. are a strain on one's back and legs .. (I don't even wear heels .. and I'm in my elder years .. they are far too painful indeed)

    Just INSANE ..
TODDLERS do not give one bit of CARE about 'sophistication' ..
and are more interested in playing with the BOX ..
taking the rhinestones out to glue onto cards for grandparents and parents ..
    having FUN playing ..
than about how one 'looks' ..
(trust me .. there's no toddler I know that would even TOLERATE these on them .. )

Just wondering .. is this pandering to the "TODDLERS and Tiaras" crowd?
    (Shudder)

I don't think so they are growing and learning to walk with regular shoes don't need their arches messed up.

Honestly I am all for heels BUT this is just a little ridiculous. I mean that child is 8 years old! What does she really need to wear heels for, who is she trying to impress?? And besides, heels are REALLY bad for you're feet and can mess up the way you walk and give you bad posture, especially when you're older. I really don't think that imposing that on our children when their really young is a good idea. The shoes are cute, just not cool for a toddler/young one to wear.

High heels accentuate a females butt. There is no need for that when it come to little girls.

They are not stripper shoes, sheesh. But they are inappropriate for little girls simply because of how they could mess up the foot as it develops. Heels aren't pleasant for fully developed feet, and they could kiss recess goodbye. That said, I would have looooooooooooved a pair of these when I was 8.

speacial occasions are ok for kids over 7 but toddlers are way too young
they probably don't even know what high heels are and probably know them as "mommy's shoe"

Though most parents who pierce their kids' ears that early often say it's so they don't remember the pain. My niece had studs in from 18 months onwards and they never bought her fancy earrings till she was old enough to ask for them herself...about 13 or 14.

I, on the other hand, got my ears pierced when I was 9. It's 50/50 I suppose. If we have a daughter next, we might wait a while only because we see no need for it and believe remembering the pain sort of discourages getting the whole ear studded up later.
This can surely backfire of course...but one can only hope.

Are you kidding? Not only is it dangerous for clumsy kids to be wearing heels, but the point of heels is to make your legs look sexy. What parent wants their young child to look sexy?

why would any parent let their toddler wear heels!!! im fourteen and i have worn heels maybe three times? and that was for special parties. toddlers and small choldren need time to be kids, and the media is trying to make them grow up way too fast.

The little nubby heels for dress up and maybe going to church, etc. are not too bad but platforms and tall wedgies are really pushing common sense to the side. It is common to see kids in these things all too often though, can't have the kid making a scene about being FORCED to wear their Mary Janes or other sensible shoes or sneakers, that would force parents to be - - - PARENTS.

Heels can damage an adults feet. As children are still growing this could be a disaster. The way the clothing industry is working today, kids look lke tramps by the time they are 6. These are too old looking for kids and will only make it worse,

High heels are supposed to be sexy and show your legs. Kids look stupid in them. It just looks like they are trying on their mum's clothes.

I saw a girl in heels the other day, and Im talking HEELS not the cute shoes with barely anything there dress shoes for church or special occasion. I couldn't help but wonder what he parents were thinking. Parents are letting their kids grow up to fast. Letting them dress and behave like they are older then they are. Its a big come hither to the freaks out there. Let kids be kids.

I see lots of young girls wearing them. When I was young I wanted heels. My parents only allowed flats. I would let my daughter (if I had one) wear low heels. The girls grow up fast enough these days, save heels for later. I have stopped wearing heels because they hurt. I do not miss them.
