High Heels for Kids: OK or No Way?

These fashionable wedge heels look perfect for summer. Only problem is, they’re for toddlers. Yes, that's right: Michael Kors has unveiled the Keely Wedge in sizes 1-5 Youth. You no longer have to wait for your teen years to be stylish.

The description for the heels read: “Geometric cutouts and shimmering rhinestone studs combine to offer the fashion forward Keely wedge from KORS Michael Kors Kids. This spunky sandal sports a zip heel for easy dressing, and elasticized straps for ultimate comfort. A covered wedge heel adds chic sophistication.”

Sophistication? For an eight-year-old? Parenting blog Babble compares them to “stripper shoes,” but we think they are going a bit too far. These shoes are pretty cute, and could even work for a tween. But for little girls, they are a bit ridiculous. What do you think?

1. Obviously .. the 'designer' is completely detached from the REALITY of Toddlerhood .. which is running about .. enjoying playtime .. growing and living lives ..
2. BONES in toddlers are definitely in the formative stages .. these HEELS .. even in adulthood .. are a strain on one's back and legs .. (I don't even wear heels .. and I'm in my elder years .. they are far too painful indeed)

Just INSANE ..
TODDLERS do not give one bit of CARE about 'sophistication' ..
and are more interested in playing with the BOX ..
taking the rhinestones out to glue onto cards for grandparents and parents ..
having FUN playing ..
than about how one 'looks' ..
(trust me .. there's no toddler I know that would even TOLERATE these on them .. )

Just wondering .. is this pandering to the "TODDLERS and Tiaras" crowd?

Ok I am ten and I rock sky high heels that is 5 inches and up and they are not wedges I would say no way because you have to take a practice lap in them if they mess up 3 times they cant wear them my mom dosent care and she knows i can walk in sky high heels and pluse those shoes are cute! I say OK because every kid should have the chance to feel sexy at least 10 times in there life for me its non stop !

Are you kidding me?!! Any Mother buying these for their toddler should have their head examined. Toddlers need to run and play, not be sitting on the sidelines with a broken ankle...

If they can play dress up in plastic heels then i don't see a problem with reall ones and their wedges so they arn't as hard to walk in and they don't look to adult for them.

Those are so cute! I am all for it, 6-10 year olds can wear heels; they aren't 6 inch stilettos - that would be inappropriate (and a child's shoe size couldn't work with that, health would also be an issue)

A.) the childs bones arent strong enough to walk in heels.
B.) who wants to raise a slut....like if it was for 4 or 5 years for dress up thts one thing but 6-12 year olds shuld'nt be wearing heels, or make up, or short skirts.

For young kids (like, age 4) maybe not. But for the record, there are lots of adults that are size 1-5. My mom is size 5 youth.

Besides the lengthy argument against objectifying and over sexualizing young girls, even doctors will tell you that young girls should wear flat, well supported shoes, not heals. They wreak havoc on the back and ankles. Young growing bodies don't need any more burden than gravity and clumsiness. :) Young girls should look, act and feel like young girls. We should stop depriving them of new, innocent experiences and rushing them to adulthood. Let them be kids.

Not only no, but Hell No!! Ask a podiatrist. High heels permanently damage more women's feet than any other thing. As for accident in them, it's the only clothing article reportable for CDC accident statistics. We don't need to do that to kids!!
