Hepatitis C is deadlier than AIDS. Are you worried?

"A new study indicates that one in every 33 baby boomers has the Hepatitis C virus, and many don’t even know they have this liver destroying disease.
Federal health officials say Hepatitis C is now killing more people than the AIDS virus, and most are over 45 years of age."

"...the major symptoms include “pain in the right upper quadrant (of your
abdomen) that goes on for days or months. Your eyes might turn yellow,
you might start bleeding a lot if you get a cut, and the veins in your
esophagus can get really big and can rupture.”

    I am not worried.

If I worried about every threat I would go insane.

Avoid risky behavior and get tested for infectious diseases during you annual physicals.

Worrying will not prevent the disease, there are steps that can be taken to limit your risk factor. That makes more sense than worrying.

They Hepatitis C pandemic bothers me primarily because it is part of a larger problem which should not exist at all. Hepatitis C is often brought about by the destructive effects Tylonol has on the human liver. Due to the media attention devoted to celebrity deaths caused by drug abuse, doctors are being overbearingly scrutinized in the area of pain medication prescriptions. This has resulted in making it more and more difficult for people suffering with chronic pain disorders to get proper pain medication from doctors. Therefore, ever increasing numbers of these unfortunate sufferers - whom are, themselves, part of a fast-growing sector of the American population due to the baby boomer aging craze - are being forced to treat their pain symptoms with over-the-counter medication.

Tylonol has been found to be the alternative pain medication of choice by many of the people who find themselves in this unfortunate situation.

Rheumatoid Arthritis - an inflamatory and extremely painful disease which attacks the joints - is probably the most common pain-accompaning disease among America's elderly today. It takes five (5) extra-strength Tylonols to equal a single physician-prescribed-dosage of Hydrocodone for the relief of pain caused by this disease. This dosage is commonly take...

This dosage is commonly taken four (4) to six (6) times daily for effective results. That is ten-thousand (10,000 mg) to fifteen-thousand (15,000 mg) mg of acetaminophen - the effective agent contained in Tylonol.

Excessive amounts of acetaminophen is known to cause liver damage. The maximum safe dosage is four-thousand-mg (4000 mg). Yet, since Hydrocodone (Lortab) is one of the prescription pain-killers commonly abused (along with alcohol, Vicodin, Percocet and Darvocet) by holliwood celebrities and the FDA is, therefore, questioning many doctor's decisions to prescribe the drug, millions of Americans with legitimate need of a pain medication prescription from their doctor are being forced instead to turn to Extra-Strength Tylonol as a poor substitute. Hence the resulting Hepatitis C Pandemic. See also:

No. I'm not afraid of Hep-C and I realize that people may die because of it but I don't know anyone who has died. I do know people who have Hep-C but they have been healthy for many years, without treatment.

Sometimes when you work with street addicts they carry Hep C. During detox they sometimes get aggressive, One mistake or lapse of attention and they bite, kick, punch, puke, etc... I try to avoid taking risks, but I do occasionally worry. My risk is very low, but what can I say. I am a worrier.

I am not worried about it.I have it,and doctors say I also have liver cancer. It's a blood virus. There are 2 way's of getting it,needles, and straws. Before they started screening blood, you could get it from a transfusion. You can't get it from having sex.I don't do drugs.I have it,because of a transfusion before they screened for hep-c.There are two cures for hep-c,victrelis,and incivek. They are expensive, and some insurance company's might let you get it.The copay may make it unaffordable.I have faith in Christ Jesus, that He still heals today, and I'm not worried about it.

*I don't share needles (I don't even get vaccines anymore.)

*Never been near another person's blood in my life

    *Not sexually active

Unless there is someone out there that hates me enough to inject the virus into my blood stream while I'm sleeping, I don't think I have much to worry about.
